MX Nationals Rnd 7- Moved to Moree, NSW

Round seven of the MX Nationals has been moved to Moree, NSW

Motorcycling Australia (MA) would like to announce that round seven of the 2010 Australian Motocross Championship has been moved to the Moree Motorcycle Club, Moree, NSW on 18 July. The round, originally slated for Port Macquarie, was tentatively moved to McAdam Park Barrabool, however MA and Series Promoter Williams Event Management (WEM) have decided against holding any National Championship events at the Geelong facility in 2010

David Philippaerts marked a small landmark in Yamaha’s MX1-GP history when he took the innovative rear-slanting fuel injected 2010 YZ450FM to 3rd place overall through the rippled and demanding sand of Valkenswaard for the Grand Prix of Netherlands. 22,000 spectators witnessed the third round of fifteen in the ’10 FIM World Championship and saw the former World Champion gain a holeshot in the second moto and fill the role of protagonist at this vibrant meeting

Queensland Yamaha’s female racers have again dominated proceedings at round two of the Yamaha Queensland Motocross Championships held recently at Dysart, Central Queensland. QYGT’s Courtney Knight and Tamara Gray went 1-2 while Kiera Smith (Burdekin Yamaha) rounded out the top three in an all Yamaha podium

Yamaha Monster Energy Motocross Team’s David Philippaerts took a perfect 1-1 set of results at a cold and dark Montevarchi circuit for the first round of four in the Italian MX1 Championship. Completing a decent day of competition for the team Gautier Paulin enjoyed a successful debut on the 2010 YZ250F and in Monster Energy colours by also claiming two victories in the MX2 category. Ken De Dycker meanwhile triumphed at Lommel in Belgium

The deal, a five year agreement with an option of another five years, recognises the hard work and continual development WEM has made to the Championship over the years

Larrieu out of action until the new year

Loic fell at a circuit in St Thibery, southern France last week putting him out of action until 2010

Yamaha Monster Energy Ricci Motocross Team’s Loic Larrieu will face a winter of recovery and rehabilitation after a practice crash last week left the French teenager with a set of dislocated shoulders. The impressive 18 year old, who took a podium result at the Grand Prix of France during his maiden MX2-GP World championship campaign this summer, fell at a circuit in St Thibery, southern France last Thursday (8th October)
